Who requested the interview
The hiring company named in your invitation requested the interview and determines how your result is used. BuildInterview provides the assessment, execution, evaluation, and evidence services on that company's behalf.
What is collected during the interview
- Your answers, code, files, output, write-ups, timestamps, saves, runs, and final submission.
- Your AI prompts, responses, attached context, model choice, and token usage in phases where AI is enabled.
- A continuous recording of the Entire Screen and a separate camera-plus-microphone recording when the invitation requires monitored evidence.
- Disclosed events such as leaving fullscreen, changing tabs or applications, stopping screen sharing, losing connectivity, clipboard length and hash, inactivity, or sustained face-presence changes.
- System-check results, including supported browser, one connected display, camera, microphone, screen source, and fullscreen readiness.
The browser owns the screen-sharing chooser. BuildInterview requests and verifies Entire Screen after you select it. A browser tab or application window is rejected for a monitored interview.
How the information is used
Your work is evaluated against the locked assessment criteria. Automated evaluation can use deterministic tests and an AI model, depending on the question type. The hiring company receives the result, supporting evidence, activity timeline, and recordings after submission.
A monitoring event is not an automatic misconduct finding and does not directly change your quality score. The event remains available for contextual review by the hiring company.
Your choices
You can decline before starting. A monitored interview cannot continue without the required recording and system checks. If disability, technology, location, or another circumstance affects a requirement, contact the hiring company before starting to request an accommodation.
If you believe a technical failure, score, or monitoring event is wrong, use the incident or appeal contact in your invitation. Ending an active attempt is final and cannot be resumed.
Retention, access, and deletion
Only authorized members of the hiring company can access the candidate record. Evidence is kept for the retention period selected by that company and is then scheduled for deletion, subject to a documented legal hold or required dispute record. Contact the hiring company for access, correction, deletion, or review requests concerning its assessment.
Questions about these terms or notices can be sent to hello@buildinterview.com. Candidates should also use the accommodation or appeal contact provided by the hiring company in their invitation.
